Business Arising from past Minutes Status of Website/Web designer
The website was locked out therefore we have a new web address. Sean was able to recover all the information that was on the old site and move it to the new site. The new address is haltonsafetyonline.com
Sean is currently working on a new logo
We discussed setting certain times of the year to add information to the website. Examples would be the beginning of the school year, May long weekend, Halloween
We went through each part of the website and had some discussion about what we would like to change and see on the new website
Some general thought that we wanted to see or things to change
• More colour on the web pages
• Live action pictures
• Remove HRSC awards tab to HRSC Accomplishments or Initiatives
• Change announcements to What’s new or What’s Hot
• In the mission statement remove the last sentence that talks about recognizing citizens and add something about our safety initiatives.
• In the Aims and Objectives remove printing safety material as we don’t do that and maybe add links to the website to other safety agencies
In the about the Safety Council a lot has to be changed. Must remove Patrick D’Almada name and phone number. Also, changing that the council meets every last Tuesday of the month and replace it with the council meets regularly.
Also in the About the Safety Council section the last paragraph needs to be changed. Something to be added about the recognition of Safety initiatives across Halton and partnering with other community safety agencies
Laurel will try to find out some traffic safety statistics
Water Safety Page – all the aquatics people should look at the page and forward ideas.
Traffic Safety Page – Laurel will reword this page and also include something about D.A.R.E
Some things that need to be removed or changed that we noticed
• Halton Police Services should read Halton Regional Police Service
• Take out the sentence about the training day held on November 9, 2007
Michelle will work on the Accomplishments page currently it is the HRSC Awards page. Some things to be included
• Safety Networking Breakfast
• School visit funding
• Contributions to Safety village
• Some funding to Smart Risk presentations
Susan will work on taking some photos of landmarks in each region of Halton
Laurel had an idea to do pictures of each of the regions but incorporate a season and safety theme to each

PO Box change over / Bank Signature change over
Anne Marie received a letter from Patrick for the changeover. Natasha and Anne Marie will be going to the bank on Thursday to do the name change over.
Proposal for Funding from Maurine Andrews to run the Smart Risk presentations in Milton, Oakville and Burlington.
This presentation will be reaching 22, 000 students. Maurine is looking for three times the amount that she was given before. Anne Marie will go over the budget with Natasha and bring it back to the Council for approval
Citizen Representatives for the Council.
There was talk about finding citizen representatives from Halton Hills, Oakville and Burlington to sit on the council. We will take a look at this in January
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be an off sight meeting to wrap up the year. There was talk about possibly having it at the Olive Press in Oakville. More information to follow
